Description: Transcription, translation and linguistic analysis of Mahida Murad reciting “Danlathas ke Baadsha” in the Hunza dialect. In this popular story a witch kills some princes and scares the king into marrying her. She took all of the King’s daughter-in-laws and stole their eyes, sealing them into a pit hidden away from the kingdom. The youngest raises her child, and he must save his mother and aunties. Transcription done in Burushaski with translations in English.

When she returns home, Hamale Khatun comes with warnings to remain moral by the Queen, and tries to make sure her children obey them.
