Geologic Evaluation of Uranium in Plutonic Rocks, Northwestern Arizona: Status Report

Description: From introduction: This report is a status report to complete present contract obligations and is submitted in lieu of a Final Report. A Final Report is not feasible especially until complete analyses and statistical treatment of all of the 436 rock chip, 2 soil-rock and 90 water samples, a total of 528 samples submitted by the partners to Union Carbide, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, plus remaining analyses to be run by BFEC's Grand Junction Laboratory become available and other recommendations and nec… more

Historical Review of Uranium-Vanadium Production in the Eastern Carrizo Mountains, San Juan County, New Mexico, and Apache County, Arizona

Description: Introduction: This report is a brief review of the uranium and/or vanadium mining in the eastern Carrizo Mountains, San Juan County, New Mexico and Apache County, Arizona. It was prepared at the request of the Navajo Tribe, the New Mexico Energy and Minerals Department, and the Arizona Bureau of Geology and Mineral Technology. As this report deals only with historical production data, the reader is referred to reports by Blagbrough and Brown (1955), Masters and others (1955), and Stokes (1951, … more

Mesa 1° x 2° NTMS Area, Arizona: Data Report (Abbreviated)

Description: From abstract: This abbreviated data report presents results of ground water and stream/surface sediment reconnaissance in the National Topographic Map Series (NTMS) Mesa 1 x 2 quadrangle. Surface sediment samples were collected at 713 sites, at a target sampling density of one site per 13 square kilometers (five square miles). Ground water samples were collected at 365 sites. Neutron activation analysis (NAA) results are given for uranium and 16 other elements in sediments, and for uranium and… more

Mesa NTMS 1° x 2° Quadrangle Area: Supplemental Data Report

Description: From abstract: This data report presents supplemental analytical results for stream sediments and ground water. The samples were collected as part of the SRL-NURE reconnaissance in the National Topographic Map Series (NTMS) Mesa 10 x 2 quadrangle. Results are reported for 24 elements (Ag, As, Ba, Be, Ca, Co, Cr, Cu, K, Li, Mg, Mo, Nb, Ni, P, Pb, Se, Sn, Sr, Th, W, Y, Zn, and extractable U) in sediments and 31 elements (Ag, Al, As, B, Ba, Be, Ca, Ce, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Nb, Ni… more

National Uranium Resource Evaluation, Flagstaff Quadrangle, Arizona

Description: From purpose and scope: The purpose of this study is to identify and delineate areas favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits "which could contain at least 100 metric tons of U308 with an average grade of not less than 100 ppm U308". The study was limited to depths of less than 1500 m (5000 ft). No attempt was made to make the economics of recovering uranium a criterion for selecting favorable areas, except that the uranium be in a "mineable configuration".
