For several weeks now, Fort Worth motorists who travel
the east side have been concerned about things that go
bump in the day and the night.
FILM HERE (NAT SOFA The th t oesbump is your car..and in some cases...
your teeth, depending on what shape your shock absorbers
are in. One of the great joys of traveling the Turnpike
is the smooth ride. But this is no longer true at the
Turnpike bridges near Riverside and Beach, just east of
downtown 2ort hart. Several weeks ago, the Turnpike
Authority installL something called "armour joints,"....
used on bridges to allow expansion and contraction. These
steel bars. .which run the width of the road....were
supposed to be covered with something called a "hot mix."
This may sound like a Mexican dip, but it's actually an
asphalt mixture. And for one reason or another, there
has been a delay in getting some. The Turnpike Authority
promises relief as soon as possible. Meanwhile, motoristE
will continue to be all shook up. ,
