nominated to succeed Elmer Baum as chairman of the
State -emocratic Party.
He is 39-year old Roy Orr, who is also the
Mayor of D e Soto.
- Apparently he shares at least some of the
views of Senator Humphrey about the future of the
partin Texas. Orr contends the Sharpstown, stock
scandal case hasn't touched the Democratic Party.
He says. "people understand it is not the Democratic
Party but some people who may have done the wrong thin
The selection of Orr by the nominating committee
will be placed before the Bxecutive Committee
tomorrow in Pa1las and kkBX members must vote only
"yes" or "no" without considering any othernomination.
