Data testing results for the ENDF/B-V Evaluated Neutron Data File. [20 spheres pulsed with 14-Mev neutrons]

Description: The ENDF/B-V Evaluated Neutron Data File has been tested for validity by comparing calculated and experimental values of k/sub eff/ for 66 critical assemblies and emission neutron spectra for 20 spheres that were pulsed with 14-MeV neutrons. 20 figures, 7 tables.

Further improvement in the precision of 233U measurements by accelerator mass spectrometry at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Description: In response to sponsor interest in October 2005 we proposed two methods for enhancing the precision of {sup 233}U accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) capabilities at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Spontaneous fission of /sup 259/Md

Description: The mass and kinetic energy distributions of fission fragments from the spontaneous fission of th newly discovered nuclide /sup 259/Md were obtained. /sup 259/Md was identified as the E. C. daughter of /sup 259/No, and was found to decay entirely (> 95%) by spontaneous fission with a 95-min half-life. Experimental level-structure determination in odd-odd actinide nuclei

Description: The status of experimental determination of level structure in odd-odd actinide nuclei is reviewed. A technique for modeling quasiparticle excitation energies and rotational parameters in odd-odd deformed nuclei is applied to actinide species where new experimental data have been obtained by use of neutron-capture gamma-ray spectroscopy. Pion and kaon interferometry of nuclear collisions

Description: In the study complex reactions, the simple space-time interpretation of pion interferometry often breaks down due to strong correlations between spatial and momentum coordinates. In those cases, pion interferometry is still useful as a complementary test of specific dynamic models, but a refined formalism must be used, as discussed in the introduction. Experimental and evaluated nuclear plus interference cross sections for light charged particles

Description: Experimental and evaluated integral parameters derived from nuclear plus interference differential elastic scattering cross sections are presented for all projectile/target combinations of the particles p, d, t, /sup 3/He, and ..cap alpha... The data include reaction rates, average fractional energy losses per collision and per unit path length, and average laboratory scattering cosines. Integrated system for production of neutronics and photonics calculational constants. Volume 17, Part A, Rev. 1. Program linear (Version 78-1): linearize data in the evaluated nuclear data file/Version B (ENDF/B) format. [For CDC-7600]

Description: The computer code LINEAR converts evaluated cross sections in the ENDF/B format into a form that can be defined by applying linear--linear interpolation to energy and cross section parameters. Polarized proton beams in RHIC

Description: The polarized beam for RHIC is produced in the optically-pumped polarized H{sup -} ion source and then accelerated in Linac to 200 MeV for strip-injection to Booster and further accelerated 24.3 GeV in AGS for injection in RHIC. In 2009 Run polarized protons was successfully accelerated to 250 GeV beam energy. TARTNP: a coupled neutron--photon Monte Carlo transport code. [10-/sup 9/ to 20 MeV; in LLL FORTRAN]

Description: A Monte Carlo code was written that calculates the transport of neutrons, photons, and neutron-induced photons. The cross sections of these particles are derived from TARTNP's data base, the Evaluated Nuclear Data Library. The energy range of the neutron data in the Library is 10/sup -9/ MeV to 20 MeV; the photon energy range is 1 keV to 20 MeV. One of the chief advantages of the code is its flexibility: it allows up to 17 different kinds of output to be evaluated in the same problem.
