Observable Differences in Selected Employment Characteristics Among Groups of Teachers of Students With Serious Emotional Disturbances Grouped by Type of Endorsement and Level of Training

Description: Employment data were collected from personnel files of 43 teachers of students with serious emotional disturbances from a large suburban school district. The 43 records were sorted into groups by level of college education and type of teaching endorsement. The groups were then compared for differences in duration of employment and summative evaluation scores on the Texas Teacher Appraisal System using a non-parametric one-way analysis of variance. Stress and Job Satisfaction Among Special Education Teachers in Urban Districts in Texas

Description: The purpose of this study was to explore the correlation of stress and job satisfaction among urban special education teachers. A stress inventory, Maslach Burnout Inventory, a job satisfaction questionnaire, Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire, and a demographic profile were used to survey 292 special needs teachers.
