Irreversibility behavior in Ag-sheathed Bi-based superconducting wires

Description: Irreversibility lines for Ag/(Bi,Pb){sub 2}Sr{sub 2}Ca{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub y}(2223) wires prepared through a phase formation- decomposition-recovery (PFDR) process and normal annealing process were determined using both AC susceptibility measurements under DC fields and magnetisation measurements. Study for a 6 GeV undulator based synchrotron radiation source

Description: A partial study for a 6 GeV undulator based synchrotron radiation source for production of high brightness undulator radiation, in the A region, is presented. The basic lattice adopted for the storage ring is a hybrid FODO Chasman-Green lattice, making use of gradient in the dipoles. We discuss also the e beam current limits and the injection parameters.

Description: Seismic data from two explosions was processed using the Systems Science and Software MARS (Multiple Arrival Recognition System) seismic event detector in an effort to determine their relative spatial and temporal separation on the basis of seismic data alone. Minimizing the energy spread within a single bunch by shaping its charge distribution

Description: When electrons or positrons in a bunch pass through the periodic structure of a linear accelerator, they leave behind them energy in the form of longitudinal wake fields. Neutron and x-ray scattering studies of (FeF{sub 2}){sub m}(CoF{sub 2}){sub n} multilayers

Description: We have performed elastic neutron scattering measurements of the staggered magnetization in (FeF{sub 2}){sub m}(CoF{sub 2}){sub n} superlattices. Thermal expansion measurements, which are proportional to the magnetic contribution to the specific heat, wwre also carried out using high resolution x-ray diffraction. SOURCE OF MICROBUNCHING AT BNL NSLS SOURCE DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY

Description: We report experimental studies of the origins of electron beam microbunching instability at BNL Source Development Laboratory (SDL). We eliminated laser-induced microbunching by utilizing an ultra-short photocathode laser. The measurements of the resulting electron beam led us to conclude that, at SDL, microbunching arising from shot noise is not amplified to any significant level.
