The University of North Texas Press was founded in 1987 and published its first book in 1989. Though it is the newest university press in North Texas, it has quickly become a leading press with the most titles in print (more than 300) and published (15 to 18 each year). The UNT Press is a fully accredited member of the Association of American University Presses. Its books are distributed and marketed nationally and internationally through the Texas A&M University Press Consortium.

This volume contains typographical errors: (1) on page 93, there is an extra word in the title, which should be "Structure and Rhetoric in the Second Movement of Mozart's Piano Concerto K. 488."; (2) on page 113, the paragraph beginning "The remainder of the second group (mm. 42-51)..." should appear on page 115, after Example 8 and before the paragraph beginning "The bridge is in several respects..."

Theoria - Historical Aspects of Music Theory
Theoria is an annual peer-reviewed journal on all aspects of the history of music theory. It includes critical articles representing the current stage of research, and editions of newly discovered or mostly unknown theoretical texts with translation and commentary. Analytical articles on recent or unknown repertory and methods are also published, as well as review articles on recent secondary literature and textbooks.
