THE AVESTA
Mouth Hpgiene.
The lass indeed was young and fair,
With laughing eyes and raven hair,
Whose blushes sweet on dimpled cheek
Forever played at hide and seek.
But foul her breath, her teeth were black,
And beaux who came would ne'er come back;
And so the lass must needs efface
This handicap to social grace.
She scrubbed at morn and noon and night
Until her teeth were pearly white.
With lotions sweet and powders rare
She cleansed her mouth with constant care.
She now became a social hit,
Her beauty praised and praised her wit;
And suitors came, an eager throng,
Who told love's tale the whole day long.
She ate the cakes and chocolates
Bestowed by men with empty pates;
But gave her love and troth and hand
To one both rich in mind and land.
And now she lives in blissful ease
In stately home 'mid stately trees,
With all that wealth can give a wife
Where life is love and love is life.
MORAL
Whether you wish to grant or not
To any man that happy lot,
The point it seems is plainly this:
Be sure your lips invite a kiss.---U.
