Abstract: The purpose of this study is to provide a bibliometric analysis of the knowledge management literature published in the field of library and information science. The ISI Web of Science database was used as a source of data for the extraction of 3790 documents published from 1975-2016. The analysis of literature is based on countries' research productivity, annual publications, annual citations, highly cited articles, highly cited LIS journals, the most productive institutions in the LIS field, and the most prolific authors in LIS community.The types of document included in this study are research papers, conference papers, reviews, book reviews and editorials. The results show that the United States dominates the world, with reference to overall growth of the publications. The 2016 is the most productive year in terms of citations and publications of LIS literature. The Journal of Knowledge Management is the most leading source of information in library and information science. In university perspective, Nanyang Polytechnic University is the most productive research institution in LIS. Among authors of LIS profession, Bawden, D from City University of London, UK, is identified as the most prolific author. The study will be of interest for those researchers who intend to conduct bibliometric studies.
