The ceremony began with a musical performance by Michael Soto followed by the procession of graduates and introductory remarks by John W. Richmond, dean of the College of Music. Additional remarks were given by Michael McPherson (provost and vice president of student affairs). Kara Libby and Jimin Seo performed the National Anthem. After the speech of keynote speaker Daniel Sher, there was a musical performance by Luke Vanek and Xiao Wang.
