An overview of Trilinos.

Description: The Trilinos Project is an effort to facilitate the design, development, integration and ongoing support of mathematical software libraries. In particular, our goal is to develop parallel solver algorithms and libraries within an object-oriented software framework for the solution of large-scale, complex multi-physics engineering and scientific applications. Our emphasis is on developing robust, scalable algorithms in a software framework, using abstract interfaces for flexible interoperability… more

A Quantum Leap : Innovation in the Evolving Digital Library

Description: It is an honor to give the Lazerow lecture tonight and to discuss digital library developments from the perspective of working at a national laboratory. Tonight I would like to consider what lies ahead given the evolution in scientific research, how that impacts the development of digital libraries, and finally, look at some of the challenges ahead of us. I'm particularly interested in giving this talk tonight because it provides an opportunity to talk to those of you who are students. You repr… more

Trilinos users guide.

Description: The Trilinos Project is an effort to facilitate the design, development, integration and ongoing support of mathematical software libraries. A new software capability is introduced into Trilinos as a package. A Trilinos package is an integral unit usually developed by a small team of experts in a particular algorithms area such as algebraic preconditioners, nonlinear solvers, etc. The Trilinos Users Guide is a resource for new and existing Trilinos users. Topics covered include how to configure… more

Scalable rendering on PC clusters

Description: This case study presents initial results from research targeted at the development of cost-effective scalable visualization and rendering technologies. The implementations of two 3D graphics libraries based on the popular sort-last and sort-middle parallel rendering techniques are discussed. An important goal of these implementations is to provide scalable rendering capability for extremely large datasets (>> 5 million polygons). Applications can use these libraries for either run-time vi… more
