Tectonic Map of Western Nebraska and Northwestern Kansas Showing the Distribution of Uranium Occurrences

Description: From introduction: The Cordilleran Foreland (King. 1951, p. 58-62; Horberg and others, 1949, p. 192194) forms a broad north-south belt, parallel to and east of the Cordilleran geanticline (fig. 1), in which the predominant geologic structure is a series of anticlinal mountains and broad asymmetric basins that contrast sharply with the folds and overthrusts related to the Cordilleran geanticline. A tectonic map of most of the Cordilleran Foreland (fig. 2) is being compiled as an aid to study the… more

National Uranium Resource Evaluation: Hot Springs Quadrangle, South Dakota and Nebraska

Description: From Introduction: "The Hot Springs Quadrangle covers an area of approximately 18,500 km2 and is in southwestern South Dakota and northwestern Nebraska between latitudes 43º to 44ºN. and longitudes 102º to 104ºW. (Fig. 1). The quadrangle was evaluated at the surface and in the subsurface to a depth of 1500 m to identify geologic environments and delineate areas that exhibit characteristics favorable for uranium deposits."

Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance Basic Data for Sioux City NTMS Quadrangle, Nebraska and Iowa

Description: "Results of a reconnaissance geochemical survey are reported for the Sioux City Quadrangle, Nebraska; Iowa; South Dakota. Statistical data and areal distributions for uranium and uranium-related variables are presented for 119 groundwater and 542 stream sediment samples. Also included is a brief discussion on location and geologic setting."

Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance Basic Data for Scottsbluff NTMS Quadrangle, Nebraska and Colorado

Description: "Results of a reconnaissance geochemical survey of the Scottsbluff Quadrangle are reported. Field and laboratory data are presented for 567 groundwater and 402 stream sediment samples. statistical distributions and symbol plots for uranium and possible uranium-related variables are enclosed. A generalized geologic map and a producing horizon map for the survey area are provided. Pertinent geologic factors that may be of significance in evaluating the potential for uranium mineralization are bri… more
