Nuclear structure in deep-inelastic reactions

Description: The paper concentrates on recent deep inelastic experiments conducted at Argonne National Laboratory and the nuclear structure effects evident in reactions between super heavy nuclei. Experiments indicate that these reactions evolve gradually from simple transfer processes which have been studied extensively for lighter nuclei such as /sup 16/O, suggesting a theoretical approach connecting the one-step DWBA theory to the multistep statistical models of nuclear reactions. This transition between… more

Energy-differential cross section measurement for the /sup 51/V(n,. cap alpha. )/sup 48/Sc reaction

Description: The activation method was used to measure cross sections for the /sup 51/V(n,..cap alpha..)/sup 48/Sc reaction in the threshold region, from 5.515 MeV up to 9.567 MeV. Twenty approximately-monoenergetic cross section values were obtained in this experiment. These data points span the energy region at roughly equal intervals. The experimental resolutions were in the range 0.153 to 0.233 MeV (FWHM). The present differential data cover approx. 50% of the total integral response of this reaction fo… more

Graphical representation of neutron differential cross section data for reactor dosimetry applications. [Fission neutrons]

Description: The need for improved understanding of the relationships between available differential and integral data for neutron reactions used in reactor dosimetry has prompted investigation of a method for graphically representing experimental differential data in a form which appears to be quite useful for dosimetry applications. The method involves weighting the differential cross sections by spectral functions and plotting these values. Graphs of this form clearly indicate which differential data are… more

Evaluated (n,p) cross sections of /sup 46/Ti, /sup 47/Ti and /sup 48/Ti

Description: Microscopic evaluated neutron cross sections for the reactions /sup 46/Ti(n;p)/sup 46/Sc, /sup 47/Ti(n;p)/sup 47/Sc and /sup 48/Ti(n;p)/sup 48/Sc are obtained from threshold (or zero energy) to 20 MeV. The results are presented in graphical and numerical (ENDF format) form. The microscopic evaluated cross sections are compared with measured fission-spectrum-averaged values.
