Description: BS>A reinforced-concrete dual-purpose underground parking garage and personnel sheiter designed for a long-duration incident pressure of 40 psi was tested. The sheiter was exposed to shot Priscilla, an approximately 37-kt 700-ft balloon burst (June 24, 1957), at a ground range of 1600 ft (predicted 35-psi peak incident-pressure level). Solvent Extraction Recovery and Purification of Strontium-90

Description: A solvent extraction process was developed to produce high-purity Sr/sup 90/ from an irradiated U reprocessing waste solutlon. Description: Plans for deactivation of the Sl-1 facility, which underwent a nuclear excursion on Jan. 3, 1961, are discussed, along with results of radiation surveys of the facility area The condition of the reactor is described iid detail. Plans for injecting a boric acid solution into the core are disclosed; subsequently, it was decided to leave the core dry and to decontaminate and disassemble the reactor.
