Description: We have successfully designed, built and tested an experimental apparatus which is capable of providing the first real-time ultrasound images of Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard convection in optically opaque fluids confined to large aspect ratio experimental cells. Description: Mercury emissions from coal fired plants will be limited by regulations enforced by the Environmental Protection Agency. Corrosion Effects of Calcium Chloride Injection for Mercury Control on the Pollution Control Equipment

Development of New Optical Sensors for Measurements of Mercury Concentrations, Speciation, and Chemistry

Description: A diode-laser-based ultraviolet absorption sensor for elemental mercury was developed and applied for measurements in a high-temperature flow reactor and in the exhaust stream of a coal-fired combustor.
