Primordial Compositions of Refractory Inclusions

Description: Bulk chemical and oxygen, magnesium and silicon isotopic compositions were measured for each of 17 Types A and B refractory inclusions from CV3 chondrites. Tape casting of magnesium oxide.

Description: A tape casting procedure for fabricating ceramic magnesium oxide tapes has been developed as a method to produce flat sheets of sintered MgO that are thin and porous. Thickness of single layer tapes is in the range of 200-400 {micro}m with corresponding surface roughness values in the range of 10-20 {micro}m as measured by laser profilometry. IR Spectrometer Using 90-Degree Off-Axis Parabolic Mirrors

Description: A gated spectrometer has been designed for real-time, pulsed infrared (IR) studies at the National Synchrotron Light Source at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. A pair of 90-degree, off-axis parabolic mirrors are used to relay the light from an entrance slit to an output recording camera. Adaptive Localization Regions for O(N) Density Functional Theory

Description: A linear scaling approach for general and accurate pseudopotential Density Functional Theory calculations is presented. It is based on a Finite Difference discretization.
