Description: This paper presents a study of the variability in the frequency of typhoon formation over the West Pacific ocean, emphasizing the effects of the large-scale sea-air system on the activity of typhoons. Reservoir response to tidal and barometric effects

Description: Solid earth tidal strain and surface loading due to fluctuations in barometric pressure have the effect, although extremely minute, of dilating or contracting the effective pore volume in a porous reservoir. Simulation of the steady-state transport of radon from soil into houses with basements under constant negative pressure

Description: The report evaluates previous investigations of the gas permeability of the rock surrounding emplacement holes at the Nevada Test Site. Comparison Between Research-Grade and Commercially Available SnO2 for Thin-Film CdTe Solar Cells: Preprint

Description: Compared to commercial SnO2 (with similar film thickness and sheet resistance), research-grade SnO2 has higher optical transmittance and higher electron mobility. Experimental study of radium partitioning between anorthite and melt at 1 atm

Description: We present the first experimental radium mineral/melt partitioning data, specifically between anorthite and a CMAS melt at atmospheric pressure. Ion microprobe measurement of coexisting anorthite and glass phases produces a molar D{sub Ra} = 0.040 {+-} 0.006 and D{sub Ra}/D{sub Ba} = 0.23 {+-} 0.05 at 1400 C.
