Acute Radiotoxicity of (Ha-La)140 for Rats and Mice. Part III. Effects of Height and Food Intake of Animals Treated with (Ha-La)140

The Biological Behavior of Organic Compounds Containing Radiophosphorus

Description: The study was undertaken with the objective of observing the distribution in the rat of organic compounds of phosphorus labelled with the P32 isotope as tracer. The fate of several of these compounds was studied in animals bearing tumors. The distribution of inorganic phosphate in animal tissues is well known but was included in this work for comparison with the organic phosphorus compounds.

Experimental Usefulness of the Kangaroo Rat

Description: Abstract. The kangaroo rat is readily tamed and has certain characteristics that make it unique and of interest in highly specialized research programs. Studies were conducted on its ability to exist on a dried diet with only a bare minimum of water and that obtained from succulent plants. A Comparative Study of Hanford and Utah Range Sheep

Description: Observations on sheep representing flocks in Utah adjacent to the Nevada Proving Ground were compared with findings made on experimental sheep exposed to various amounts of radioiodine. The Utah sheep showed no evidence of the radiation damage observed in experimentally treated sheep. Relative Effectiveness of Various Agents for Preventing the Internal Deposition of Plutonium in the Rat

Description: The prompt administration of zirconium citrate was at least twice as effective as the prompt administration of calcium disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (CaEDTA) in preventing deposition of plutonium in the skeleton.
