Description: The program objective is to identify and evaluate a technique to remove hydrogen sulfide from geothermal steam before it is used for power generation. Review of fugitive dust control for uranium mill tailings

Description: An immediate concern associated with the disposal of uranium mill tailings is that wind erosion of the tailings from an impoundment area will subsequently deposit tailings on surrounding areas. Pacific Northwest Laboratory (PNL), under contract to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, is investigating the current technology for fugitive dust control.
