Description: Bench-scale and pilot-scale experiments have been conducted to measure the mass transfer and kinetic rates at simulated duct injection conditions. Synergistic capture mechanisms for alkali and sulfur species from combustion

Description: An aerosol reactor system has been designed and constructed for the systematic study of the mechanisms governing the possible synergistic capture of sulfur oxide and alkalis with aluminosilicates and lime (CaO). Actual particle dynamics found in coal combustor systems can be simulated, mass balances can be closed, and the system conditions are well controlled.
