Review of literature on catalytic recombination of hydrogen--oxygen. [Removal of hydrogen from containment atmosphere following LWR blowdown]

Description: The results are reported of a literature search for information concerning the heterogeneous, gas phase, catalytic hydrogen-oxygen recombination. Laboratory scale experiments to test the performance of specific metal oxide catalysts under conditions simulating the atmosphere within a nuclear reactor containment vessel following a loss-of-coolant blowdown accident are suggested.

Design criteria for phase II dummy hydraulic core for containment systems experiment reactor simulator

Description: The design of a Phase II dummy hydraulic core for the CSE reactor simulator is described. The core will be a scale model having features typical of PWR or BWR reactor cores, and will include control rods and associated support mechanisms, fuel elements, a thermal shield, top and bottom core guide and support plates, and flow baffles.
