Radioactive effluent control program: Douglas United Nuclear operated AEC facilities

Description: This report is addressed to the radioactive effluent control program of (AEC) facilities operated by Douglas United Nuclear, Inc. It was prepared in response to an inquiry from Atomic Energy Commision AEC Division of Operational Safety via AEC-RL regarding quantities of radionuclides released. The current status, measurement, and activity of the program are described. In addition, other related efforts which have been deferred due to lack of funding are highlighted.

Douglas United Nuclear monthly report, March 1971

Description: Two designs of thin annulus neptunium target elements, fabricated to produce medical grade Pu-238 in the Hanford production reactors and to be problem-free in separations and waste disposal operations, had successful in-reactor performances. Results of the BNW separations are not yet available. Examination of five N Reactor ball channels revealed no graphite breakage. Douglas United Nuclear monthly report, October 1971

Description: N Reactor operated during 22 days of the month with a time operated efficiency of 69.5 percent and electrical production of 427.54 x 10{sup 6} kwh. New daily and weekly generation records were established. A small seismic shock was felt at N Reactor on October 25. No effects on plant operation or facilities were observed.
