Uranium Recovery, Uranium Geochemistry, Thermoluminescence and Related Studies. Final Report

Description: The recovery of urantum at the mine with portable equipment was shown to be feasible, using a process which involves grinding the ore, leaching with nitric acid, extracting with tributyl phosphate and kerosene, and precipitation with ammonia gas. Reconnaissance for Uranium in the Olmos District, Northern Peru

Description: In 1957 lithologic studies, a radiometric survey, and general geologic mapping in the Olmos district of northern Peru were conducted in search of favorable host rocks for uranium. This district lies in the Cordillera Occidental, and includes small portions of the departments of Piura, Cajamarca, and Lambayeque.
