Description: Screening criteria and specifications are recommended to aid in the evaluation of sites proposed for nuclear waste disposal in basalt and domed salt. Description: A model was devised for waste dissolution in bedded salt, a hydrologically tight medium. Development of Oral Fomulation of SCV-07 for Use in Tuberculosis

Description: An evaluation of the immunomodulatory peptide SCV-07 was conducted as a possible therapeutic treatment for tuberculosis. This evaluation included mouse models, clinical trials and various forms of the drug such as liquid injection and development of an oral pill. It was found that SCV-07 significantly increased the survival rate of animals infected with lethal doses of Mycobacterium bovis. Oriented Logging Tools at the Nevada Test Site

Description: Large-diameter boreholes drilled at the Nevada Test Site for the Department of Energy frequently exhibit an elongation in response to the regional stress field. Single-axis, decentralized logging tools invariably migrate to the long axis of the hole while logging. The long axis is the roughest and is more frequently washed out. Mitigation of Emittance Dilution Due to Transverse Mode Coupling in the L-Band Linacs of the ILC

Description: The main L-band linacs of the ILC accelerate 2820 bunches from a center of mass of 10 GeV to 500 GeV (and in the proposed later upgrade, to 1 TeV). The emittance of the vertical plane is approximately 400 times less than that of the horizontal plane. A Variable Directional Coupler for an Alternate ILC High-Power RF Distribution Scheme

Description: We describe the design and functionality of an RF directional coupler for which the power division between the output ports is mechanically variable. In an alternate power distribution scheme for the ILC, power is delivered to cavities in pairs, through hybrids. Four pairs, or eight cavities, are fed from one waveguide feed, from which one fourth, one third, and one half of the power is coupled out at consecutive directional couplers. INSERTION DEVICE UPGRADE PLANS AT THE NSLS.

Description: This paper describes plans to upgrade insertion devices (IDs) at the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS), Brookhaven National Laboratory, U.S.A.
