Corrosion-induced gas generation in a nuclear waste repository: Reactive geochemistry and multiphase flow effect

Surface kinetic model for isotopic and trace element fractionation during precipitation of calcite from aqueous solution

Description: A surface reaction kinetic model is developed for predicting Ca isotope fractionation and metal/Ca ratios of calcite as a function of rate of precipitation from aqueous solution. Formation and Reactivity of Biogenic Iron Microminerals

Description: The overall purpose of the project was to explore and quantify the processes that control the formation and reactivity of biogenic iron microminerals and their impact on the solubility of metal contaminants. Geochemistry of clathrate-derived methane in Arctic Ocean waters

Description: Alterations to the composition of seawater are estimated for microbial oxidation of methane from large polar clathrate destabilizations, which may arise in the coming century. Regional and Local Trends in helium isotopes, basin and rangeprovince, western North America: Evidence for deep permeablepathways

Laser sampling system for an inductively-coupled atomic emission spectrometer. Final report

Description: A laser sampling system was attached to a Perkin Elmer Optima 3000 inductively-coupled plasma, atomic emission spectrometer that was already installed and operating in the Chemistry and Geochemistry Department at the Colorado School of Mines. Preliminary study of lead isotopes in the carbonate-silica veins of Trench 14, Yucca Mountain, Nevada

Description: The sub-vertical carbonate-silica veins filling the Bow Ridge Fault, where exposed in Trench 14 on the east side of Yucca Mountain, carry a lead isotopic signature that can be explained in terms of local sources.
