SAFIRE: A systems analysis code for ICF (inertial confinement fusion) reactor economics

Description: The SAFIRE (Systems Analysis for ICF Reactor Economics) code incorporates analytical models for scaling the cost and performance of several inertial confinement fusion reactor concepts for electric power. The code allows us to vary design parameters (e.g., driver energy, chamber pulse rate, net electric power) and evaluate the resulting change in capital cost of power plant and the busbar cost of electricity. SAFIRE user's manual

Description: Analytical models for scaling the cost and performance of inertial confinement fusion (ICF) electric-power plants have been developed and incorporated into the SAFIRE code.
