Description: Thirty-nine black Members serve in the 107th Congress, all in the House of Representatives. In 210 years of congressional history, there have been 107 black Members of Congress: 103 elected to the House and four to the Senate. Demonstration of an Instrument for On-Line Measuring of the Alpha Radiation

Description: The Salt Waste Processing Facility and the Actinide Removal Process at the Savannah River Site will remove alpha emitting radioisotopes from High Level Waste to meet regulatory disposal requirements. Results of Groundwater Modeling for Tritium Tracking at the Hanford Site 200 Area State-Approved Land Disposal Site--2004

Description: The model results presented in this report incorporates the reported data through June 2004 and then uses the updated discharge and tritium inventory values through 2034 based on more current information . Air Force Aerial Refueling

Description: Aerial refueling aircraft are key to military air operations. The U.S. tanker fleet is numerous and effective, but old. Modernizing or replacing the current fleet of tankers presents the Department of Defense (DOD) with difficult choices in terms of desired capabilities, force structure, and budget. Western Water Resource Issues

Description: Growing populations and changing values continue to place increasing demands on water supplies and river systems, resulting in water use and management conflicts throughout the country. Recent conflicts are particularly evident in the West, where the population is expected to increase 30% in the next 20-25 years and where agricultural needs are often in direct conflict with urban needs, as well as with water demand for threatened and endangered species, recreation, and scenic enjoyment.

The U.S. Intelligence Budget: A Basic Overview

Description: The 9/11 Commission recommended that a new National Intelligence Director (NID) should have control over personnel and budgets of all agencies that collect and analyze national foreign intelligence in order to foster more cooperation.
