The Civilian Conservation Corps in Big Bend National Park

Description: During the New Deal, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) put young men to work in state and national parks across the United States. One of such parks, Big Bend National Park, is the focus of this study. The CCC had two camps within the park, one from 1934 to 1937 and another from 1940 to 1942. Manipulating Fear: The Texas State Government and the Second Red Scare, 1947-1954

Description: Between 1947 and 1954, the Texas State Legislature enacted a series of eight highly restrictive anti-communist laws.
