Battery Ownership Model: A Tool for Evaluating the Economics of Electrified Vehicles and Related Infrastructure

Description: This presentation uses a vehicle simulator and economics model called the Battery Ownership Model to examine the levelized cost per mile of conventional (CV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in comparison with the cost to operate an electric vehicle (EV) under a service provider business model. The service provider is assumed to provide EV infrastructure such as charge points and swap stations to allow an EV with a 100-mile range to operate with driving profiles equivalent to CVs and HEVs. Design, Construction and Operation Of A High Pressure Flow Loop Reactor For Carbon Sequestration

Description: The Department of Energy’s Albany Research Center has been exploring the possibility of direct mineral carbonation as a means of sequestering carbon dioxide. As part of this research, a three-phase flow through reactor capable of operating at 200°C and 2500 psia was built. The reactor is a plug flow reactor with continuous and complete recycle. The results from this reactor may be used to design a larger and truly continuous flow reactor. This paper describes the design, construction and operat… more

The Second Generation Hypernuclear Spectroscopy at JLab Hall C (E01-011 experiment)

Description: The second generation Λ hypernuclear spectroscopy by (e,e’K{sup +}) reaction has been carried out successfully at JLab in 2005. New configurations, HKS and Tilt method, significantly improved both energy resolution and statistics. Systematic error depend on tuning procedure was estimated by the blind analysis. Analysis is in the final stage. Third generation experiment (JLab E05-115) will be performed in the summer of 2009 w/ new e’ spectrometer (HES).
