Description: The lack of suitable benchmark problems makes it difficult to test sensitivity codes with a covariance library. Coarse-node computations with an adaptive node structure

Description: The analysis with COMMIX of liquid metal reactor (LMR) intermediate heat exchanger (IHX) transients that are characterized by low flows, and especially imbalanced low flows, shows that if a coarse-node structure is used the predicted temperatures are significantly different than those given by a fine-node structure. Development of nuclear models for higher energy calculations

Description: Two nuclear models for higher energy calculations have been developed in the regions of high and low energy transfer, respectively. In the former, a relativistic hybrid-type preequilibrium model is compared with data ranging from 60 to 800 MeV. A numerical study of Rayleigh-Taylor instability in aluminum and steel plates

Description: The SCRAM code is applied to the study of Rayleigh-Taylor instability in metal plates, and comparisons of these computer results are made with experimental data for 1100-O aluminum, 6061-T6 aluminum and 304 stainless steel. Various models for the pressure, temperature, and strain-rate dependencies of the flow stress are compared in the computer calculations. ACE: AMY CDC (Central Drift Chamber) Fast Track Finder

Description: The central drift chamber (CDC) of the AMY detector at the TRISTAN e/sup /+//e/sup /-// collider features its fine granularity and multi-band structure. Incinerator ash dissolution model for the system: Plutonium, nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid

Description: Computer simulation of electron and ion sources is made by using a class of computer codes known as gun design programs. In this paper, we shall first list most of the necessary and some optional capabilities of such programs. A scoping study of fission product transport from failed fuel during N Reactor postulated accidents

Description: This report presents a scoping study of cesium, iodine, and tellurium behavior during a cold leg manifold break in the N Reactor. On bunch lengthening using the fourth harmonic cavity in the NSLS VUV ring

Description: It has been suggested that the phase of the beam excited voltage in the harmonic cavity can be controlled by detuning its resonant frequency from the beam current harmonic. Description: This study compares calculated results from the CELL-2 spectrum code to calculated results from the MCNP Monte Carlo code for typical pressurized water reactor (PWR) fuel lattices at elevated temperatures. PHOTON: A user's manual

Description: PHOTON has proven very useful in the development of the X17 superconducting wiggler beamline. Its use has determined the shielding required from the wiggler device to the very end of the beamline in the hutches and angiography section.
