The primary purposes of the study were to determine the effect of boron oxide deposits on the turbine-nozzle area, combustor pressure loss, temperature distribution, and combustion efficiency. Performance at High Temperatures and Pressures of an Annular Turbojet Combustor Having Articulated Liner Walls

Temperature data were obtained at eight cone locations, four cylinder locations, and seven flare locations; pressures were measured at one cone location, one cylinder location, and three flare locations" (p. 1).

Effect of Hinge-Line Position on the Oscillating Hinge Moments and Flutter Characteristics of a Flap-Type Control at Transonic Speeds

Description: Free oscillation test to determine hinge moment of trailing-edge, flap control surface with various hinge-line positions at transonic speed. Results show that oscillating amplitude has a large effect on the control aerodynamic damping derivative and that the damping is unstable in the test Mach number range above about 0.90 for the hinge positions tested.
