Arion ex Pascal

Description: This piece exploits a voluntarily limited sound material, opposing two types of sounds: long and very short sounds. This material was generated at the Pascal* studio of the CRFMW in Liège. Description: Recording of Teodoro Pedro Cromberg's El Arpa, la Mano, la Sombra. This is a work for harp and electroacoustic track. This piece has two sections that are preceded by a prelude and separated by an interlude. In the first section the instrument is more abstract whereas in the second section there is more emphasis on the instrumental possibilities of the harp. The composer credits Ricardo Biancchini, who created one of the sounds used in the Csound orchestra.

Description: Recording of James Dashow's ...at other times, the distances. Quadraphonic electronic music. This work is a re-working of the electronic materials from FAR SOUNDS, BROKEN CRIES, for 12 instruments and electronic sounds. Atlas folisipelis

Description: Recording of Florivaldo Menezes' Atlas folisipelis. This work was written for oboe, English horn, and percussion. This work's sound materials were created by oboe, different countries' skin instruments, and 13 different bagpipes. The piece establishes a sound map of various geographical locations and focuses on the different archetypical elements of civilization. The composer separated the piece into 13 distinct parts that are connected without interruption.

Description: Recording of Carlos Gratzer's Ausbruch. This work was commissioned by INA-GRM and produced in their studios in Paris. The piece explores the relationship between sounds of nature and synthesized sounds. Description: Recording of Brigitte Robindore's L'autel de la perte et de la transformation. This work illustrates an archetypal event in the evolution of the inner life where man has to face loss. It is not just an ordinary loss, as distressing as it may be, but the voluntary sacrifice of something very dear. The UPIC system does not reveal all its possibilities during the first approach. With time the sounds begin to be electronically processed and revealing the possibilities of electro-acoustic technique.

Description: Recording of Rodrigo Cicchelli Velloso's Autumn space. This piece relates to the coexistence of the differently contrasting and even contradictory elements we experience in Autumn.
