ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I would first like to thank the faculty of the UNT Department of Behavior Analysis for
instilling in me the knowledge necessary to complete this project. At the head of that list is my
advisor, Dr. Karen Toussaint, for her continual support, encouragement and guidance. I would
also like to thank my committee members, Dr. Jonathan Pinkston and Dr. Einar Ingvarsson, for
their invaluable guidance and expertise on my thesis project. I want to thank my husband and
daughter, Dick and Reagan Rorer, who not only tolerated my diminished attention, short temper and
excessive demands throughout the process; but kindly did my chores, made me tea, provided moral
support and pushed me when I didn't want to do my work. Thank you to my daughter, Jessica
Wagstrom, for constantly reminding me, through the magic of Facebook that I can, indeed, do
this. I am especially grateful to all those who assisted me with collecting live IOA and scoring
videos, especially Karen Brister and Vi Phuong Vo. I literally could not have done this without
you. To everyone else who offered encouraging words, helped me with graphing or editing, or
provided assistance in any way, I am extremely and always appreciative.iii
