The theme of this imitation is built on the interval of a
fourth, as are the melodies played by the tuba.
When the tuba enters in measure 16 the two-voiced
canon has a third voice added, but the pitches in the piano
part remain the same pitches sounded in the last half of
measure 15 and do not change, except for accented pulsations
at various times between measures 16 and 20, as shown in
Figure 8.
