Aeronautical Service
Memorandum Opinion and Order adopted terminating proceeding to
investigate the extent and nature of interference-related compatibil-
ity problems between the major broadcasting services and the VHF
Aeronautical Mobile Radio Services. Action was taken in view of
comments filed in response to the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking,
50 FR 19392, May 2, 1985. Those comments did not provide enough
substantive information from which final rules could be adopted. In
addition, the Commission feels that final action would be premature
until after the International Radio Consultative Committee (CCIR)
meets in late 1986.
