It's not a bit too early to
plan your Christmas Card List around
the beautiful new NSSAR Christmas
Cards that will soon be making their
way into your mail box. There's
every reason you should, and here are
just a few of them:
NSSAR Christmas Cards
- - are very appropriate and
beautiful in design

them
Each box of NSSAR cards you
purchase will help our National
Society Committees carry out their
worthwhile objectives - do your part
- we need to sell all the cards this
year - so show your loyalty to SAR.
BUY AND USE OUR NSSAR CARDS!
TXSSAR PATRIOTS FUND
CALLING ALL COMPATRIOTS! Soon
Secretary Gibson will be mailing 1992
Dues notifications. Included in this
mailing will be an invitation from
TXSSAR President, Graham Martin, encouraging your generosity once
again for the Patriots Fund - -
Texas' own financial support for
worthy projects. The Fund needs to
maintain its growth which has lagged
the last year or two. As you may
know, only the earnings may be spent
from the Fund each year, and
expenditures are only for those
projects approved by the Delegates at
the Annual Meeting of the Texas
Society. PLEASE take the time to
consider President Martin's message.
We hope that you will add that
"little bit extra" to the amount of
your check returned to Secretary
Gibson. THANKS.
TRUSTEES GIVE TO PATRIOTS FUND
The scholarship award approved
last March at Abilene for the 1992
Douglass G. High Orations Contest
plus the much appreciated continuing
financial support by Compatriot
Robert Ritchie, resulted in a total
First PLace award of $1,900. To
"even" this award to an amount of
$2,000 for First Place, the Patriots
Fund Trustees made voluntary personal
contributions for the specific
purpose of increasing the Patriots
Fund portion. The Texas Society
appreciates this gesture in support
of the SAR's valuable youth program.

profile of SAR in the local community
which equal the appearance of an SAR
unit in uniform with flags and
muskets, marching to the beat of a
drum. The societies of several
states in the East have such units,
and they make an impressive showing
at the National Congress as well as
on their home grounds. The Texas3
