indicates how much relationship between the two variables
can be accounted for. The coefficient of determination, r2,
is the correlation coefficient squared, A correlation co-
efficient of .7 and above is considered- a good indication of
relationship, because with a value of .7 and above, a mini-
mum of 49 percent of the relationship can be accounted for.
The remainder of the table gives the individual seg-
ments and the frequency distribution of the correlation and
determination coefficients within the segments.
Market Structure W-10, the Ideal Autoroobile
Table XVI is the market structure W-10 for the Ideal
automobile. The highest concentration of correlation and
determination coefficients lies in the range from 0.7001
positive to 0.9000 negative in segment one. There appears
to be very little high correlation (.7 or better) on the
positive side but better correlation on the negative side in
the range of .7 to .9.
Segment two has only one respondent in it which gives '
perfect correlation; however, this is meaningless since
there is only one respondent in the group. Segments three
and four with five and ten people in the .respective segments
have good correlation on the positive side. Segment five
with seventeen people in the segment has almost a normal
bell-shaped distribution of coefficients. The heaviest
concentration is from a positive ...3001 to a negative
