SHARON LOUISE (NONWLAN) ISLER (NLS '73) is science librarian at the Research
Library for Alcon Laboratories, Inc., Ft. Worth. Sharon was previously medical
librarian at John Peter Smith Hospital, Ft. Worth.
PATRICK MUCKELROY (MLS '78) has been appointed circulation and reserve librar-
ian at Western State College, Gunnison, Colo. :,.
MARILEE NEALE (MLS '71) became director of the LaMarque Public Library in
November. Previously she was head of extension services for the Rosenberg
Library, Galveston..
FRANK NELSON (MLS '82) is librarian at Hermitage College in Toppenish, Wash.
Frank wrote: "I am totally involved in the Hermitage College experiment.
With the help of 7 work/study students' I have completed 2 rooms of the new
library. Reference, current periodicals and DDC's 001-899 are up and ready
to circulate." In addition to the challenges of starting a librar- from
scratch, Frank teaches a "Human Concerns Colloquium."
ELLEN SATHER (MLS '79) is director of the Education Information Center at
Spokane (Wash.) Public Library. The Center is written about in "Spoke Library
HostsEmployment Counselors," Library Journal 108 (January 15, 1983): 86.
JACKI (WORK) SCHENCK ( MLS '74) is Consultant for Public Libraries and State
Institutions in the Library Development Bureau, New Mexico State Library.
She has been with the State Library since 1980.
KAREN A. SMITH (MLS '71) toured England this past summer and "had a great time
in Oxford and sightseeing in the Cotswalds." Karen and her husband, Bob,
spent two weeks in London and Paris after their marriage on October 1, 1982.
MARY STANTON (MLS '79) is librarian at the junior school library in Falfurrias.
Mary wrote:' "I love junior high and hope to stay with this level. There are
a lot of positive things about this job:,"
MARY FRANCES TOWNSEND (MLS '79) is: head of interlibrary loan at the Houston
Public Library. Mary Frances joined BECKY HUBERT (MLS '79), fine arts
librarian at Houston Public, for a summer visit to the World's Fair in Knox-
ville. In route, Mary Frances found her roots "in a tiny town in a wonderful
valley, Townsend, Tenn., in the heart of'the mountains. It was great."
TOM WHITAKER (MLS '72) is media coordinator for Dallas Baptist College. His
wife, LINDA, (1:S '72) is teaching courses in English as a second language
for the Dallas Independent School District.
GAYLE WILKINSON (fLS coursework in progress) wrote that her Thoreau, N.M.
library has had "everything from library lessons to karate demonstrations to
a Santa's workshop for making Christmas gifts. It's been great fun and is
making me look forward to the rest of the year, too."
SHARON WOSNICK (MILS '82) is assistant science-engineering librarian at theUniversity of Texas at Arlington Library.
JUDY YARBOROUGH (MLS '73) and her husband, John, have opened Young Ideas,
a children's bookstore, in Plymouth Park Shopping Center in Irving.
