sociologists in otherparts of the country were quick to
criticize theu use of force.George Beto..Director of Correction in Texas..told a meeting
of Governors in Puerto Rico..that the Attica rebellion was an
example of convict-run operations..that most U-S prisons and
jails are run by convicts.Governor Ronald Reagan..who has his own share of problems with
rebellion behind prison walls..said he fears the percentage of
violent and un-regenerate prisoners..is increasing..that some
revolutionaries have left campus activities to foment troubles in
prisons.The Attica prison yard was scattered with debris as officials
made a roll call late this :fternoon.Eight prisoners were missing
