February 2024: Todd Oldham's partner Tony Longoria noted via Instagram that this dress was commissioned by Simon Doonan for Barney's astrology windows in the 1990s, and Oldham used "Gemini Twins" traits and people as inspiration for the embroidery. A New York Times article covering Barney's zodiac-themed windows was published on 26 November 1989.
