[Consumer rationing box next to dime]

Description: Photographs of a Consumer Rationing kit from WWII held by UNT Special Collections as part of the Miniature Book Collection. In the first image it is standing up next to a dime for size comparison. The box is thin and orange and has a label on the front with rules about rations and ration stamps. There is important information included at the bottom and a pencil marking that reads "#53". It was a replica of what the stamp booklets looked like during WWII. In the second image the case is in the back and a booklet and ration book are set out in front of it. There is a dime placed beside them for size reference. The book is titled "Consumer Rationing in World War Two" and the booklet is the fourth in a series.

Description: Photographs of three pages in the first volume of "La creación" held by UNT Special Collections. It is a Spanish translation of a series of novels by Alfred E. Brehm, a zoologist and illustrator who traveled the world investigating natural histories and working to establish what is now termed "scientific racism". Page clv has two columns of text and two illustrations titled "Cafre" and "Venus hotentote" both now recognized as offensive terms. Page clvi has two columns of text and two illustrations titled "Negros australianos" and "Tipo esquimal. Cráneo de groenlandés" for the Aboriginal Australian people and the skull of an Inuit of the area around Greenland. On page clvii there are two columns of text and three illustrations of different skulls. The first depicts the disorder Scaphocephaly, the second is of a Patagonian, and the third is of an Australian.

Description: Scanned document held by UNT Special Collections. It is a "Message from the President of the United States", Andrew Jackson, concerning the recent establishment of the Republic of Texas following their battles with Mexico. There is also another message from John Forsyth below on the same paper. Page 6, is the start of the "Constitution of the Republic of Texas" and includes a list of names in two columns at the top. Page 7, is section 7 through 17 of the "Constitution of the Republic of Texas".
