Revisiting (Some of) the Lasting Impacts of the Liberty Ships via a Metallurgical Analysis of Rivets from the SS "John W. Brown"

Description: This article examines a rivet from the SS "John W. Brown", which was assembled in Baltimore, Maryland, and launched in September 1942. Classical metallurgical analysis of a rivet from the original 1942 vessel is compared with modern rivets used during its restoration.

Rationally designed graphene-nanotube 3D architectures with a seamless nodal junction for efficient energy conversion and storage

Description: This article discusses the development of a strategy of creating 3D graphene-carbon nanotube hollow fibers with radially aligned CNTs (RACNTs) seamless sheathed by a cylindrical graphene layer through a one-step chemical vapor deposition using an anodized aluminum wire template.

Tribological Properties of (EN AW-AlCu4MgSi(A)) Aluminium Alloy Surface Layer After Ball Burnishing

Description: Article presents the tribological properties of (EN AW-AlCu4MgSi(A)) aluminium alloy surface layer after ball burnishing. EN AW-AlCu4MgSi(A) aluminium alloy is widely used as a structural material in aerospace and automotive applications. The authors have subjected it to grinding, polishing and ball burnishing.
