Perception of Falls and Confidence in Self-Management of Falls among Older Adults

Description: This article investigates the relative contribution of confidence of self-management in falls (CSMoF) in relation to fall risk self-perceptions while controlling for demographics and self-reported health and functioning. The joint effects of perception of falls and fear of falls likely explain CSMoF among older adults more than physical functional indicators. Fall prevention programs for older adults should prioritize to address modifiable subjective factors of fall perceptions, fear of falls, and CSMoF across health and functioning statuses.

Using Metadata Record Graphs to understand controlled vocabulary and keyword usage for subject representation in the UNT theses and dissertations collection

Description: This article discusses the use of network analysis through the creation Metadata Record Graphs to analyze the interconnectedness of subject and keywords in the University of North Texas Theses and Dissertations collection. The analysis compares overlap of controlled terms (Library of Congress Subject Headings) and uncontrolled terms (keywords), as well as the effects of basic format normalization (to simulate editing values for consistency) to evaluate how well subjects connect in the collection.

Developing Evaluation Frameworks for Business Models in China’s Rural Markets

Description: This article draws on case analysis to present two frameworks for evaluating two types of business models, and, through open coding and axial coding on eight Chinese cases, identifies the main components for the evaluation frameworks and critical factors within each component. Using the coding results as a lens, the article applies a cross-case comparative data analysis to establish the multi-level evaluation systems and provides suggestions for entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to better their business model design in China’s rural markets.

Adherence to Exercise Programs in Older Adults: Informative Report

Description: This article focuses on filling information gaps regarding adherence to physical activity and exercise in the health care spectrum of older adults (OA) and an overview of the benefits of physical activity for OA. Exercise adherence in OA is a multifactorial problem encompassing many biopsychosocial factors. Factors affecting adherence in the OA include socioeconomic status, education level, living arrangements, health status, pacemakers, physical fitness, and depression. Improving adherence could have a significant impact on longevity, quality of life, and health care costs.

Local and Systemic Metabolic Responses during Light-Induced Rapid Systemic Signaling
