A microprocessor system has been developed to control the acquisition and interpretation of resistance-measurement data from plated-through holes in printed wiring boards. The system provides a direct digital display of the thickness of the copper plating on the hole walls. The complex calibration for holes having different geometries is stored in the memory of the system, and the geometry factors are input through thumbwheel switches.
