Truncilla macrodon, Specimen #1566

Description: One preserved mussel specimen including both the left and right valves. The specimen exhibits an elliptical shape; white internal coloring; tan external coloring; no external sculpturing. The specimen measures between 0 - 60 mm in length and was assessed to be very-recently dead when collected.

Failure Test of a Double Chambered NaK-Filled Irradiation Capsule

Description: Report describing tests "in which a double chambered irradiation capsule containing NaK (sodium-potassium alloy) in its inner chamber was deliberately perforated to allow NaK (the heat transfer medium) and water to react within the capsule chambers" (p. 2). Thermal stability of PBX-9404, LX03 and LX04

Description: In the Hotcake experiments, PBX-9404 was subjected to various temperature spikes from 202 degrees Centigrade to 268 degrees Centigrade to determine conditions which would result in ignition of the explosive. since that time, measurements have been made of decomposition rates of PBX-9404, LX03, LX04, and pure HMX, at temperatures from about 240 degrees Centigrade to 270 degrees Centigrade.
