Description: Dinner dress of black wool crepe with satin lapels and filigree crepe and velvet inset over tan backing at bustline. Knee-length, half sleeves. Wide inserted waist is piped at top and bottom with knotted bows at center front. Mitered pleats at center front of skirt create draped details. Center back zipper closure; shoulder pads; unlined. Straw hat

Description: Hat of tightly coiled, finely braided metallic gold straw. The low crown is telescoped at top. Hatband of a wreath of artificial flowers with green leaves and metallic gold four-petal blossoms with pearl centers. From below the wreath extends light brown net veil. Narrow circular brim, rolled under and back to form its own lining/facing. Unlined; headband of golden brown grosgrain ribbon and elastic cord to help secure to wearer's head. Maker's inside: Regalle

Skirt ensemble

Description: Ensemble consisting of skirt and jacket of off-white linen and lace. A) Jacket of off-white linen. Waist/hip length, rounded neckline, short sleeves, center front opening with no closures. Inset with vertical bands of off-white crocheted lace, two on front, one on each sleeve from shoulder to hem, one on each side under sleeves, and two on back. Unlined. No labels. B) Skirt of matching materials. Maxi length. At front of dress are two vertical inset bands of matching lace which extend to slightly above hem, and then are connected around sides and back by matching inset horizontal band of lace. Center back hook-and-eye closures. No labels.

Chesterfield coat

Description: Woman's Chesterfield coat of navy wool. Single breasted with hidden button fly closure; bound buttonholes. Notched lapel with black velvet collar. Long two-piece sleeves with two nonfunctioning buttons on vented cuff. Welt pocket at left breast. Single vent at center back with hidden button closure. Lined in navy silk crepe. Fur felt hat

Description: Hat of beige fur felt. The high, domed crown is wrapped by a wide silk satin ribbon woven in a Madras-inspired plaid of olive green, orange, yellow, red, and tan. The ribbon extends for a significant distance off of the back of the hat to become streamers, and is held at the back of the crown by a circular conch of white shell. The asymmetric brim is set off-center, with wider sections at front/right and shallower sections at back/left. All edges turn up, with a higher area at front/right. The hat is unlined, retaining much of the pelt on the underside of the brim and inside the base of the crown.

Bergere-style hat

Description: Bergère style hat of off-white felt. Open crown is encircled and almost covered by wide bands of red, white, and blue horizontally striped grosgrain ribbon, with crossing and trailing ends at back. The wide brim curves downwards. Headband of off-white grosgrain ribbon. Retailer's label inside: "Sonnenfeld's / St. Louis"

Felt hat

Description: Picture hat of black felt. The crown is formed as a bun, with puffed top, resembling a muffin, cinched in at the base by a visible satin string/stitch with trailing edge/tassel at back. The wide brim of matching felt curves downwards and has a decorative topstitch near outer edge very slightly gathering the edge. Lined in pink with drawstring closure resembling reticule purse. [Moreland's Rexall Drug]

Description: Photograph of the Moreland's Rexall Drug storefront in Fort Worth, Texas. This drugstore was located at the Westcliff Shopping Center, built in 1945 by the J. E. Foster & Son company. A row of parked automobiles can be seen in front of the drugstore. Some products hang in the front windows of the storefront. The shopping center still stands today and is located at West Biddison Street.
