A Radio-Frequency Power Delivery System: Procedures for Error Analysis and Self-Calibration
Description:
Abstract: An expression is developed for net power delivered to a load in terms of the indicated forward and reflected power and the system S-parameters and reflection coefficients. The dual directional coupler is treated as nonideal with power reflections assumed between all ports. The system itself is used to evaluate the major S-parameter terms in net power computation, and uncertainty in the computed power is derived from origins in the power meter readings and incompletely known S-parameters.

Phenix City 1° x 2° NTMS area, Alabama and Georgia: data report (abbreviated)
Description:
From Introduction: "The data presented here are reconnaissance data intended for use in identifying broad areas for further study. While care has been taken to provide reliable sampling and analyses, verification of individual analyses is beyond the scope of this report. The data should be viewed statistically because "one-point anomalies" may be misleading. Regional trends, however, should be reliable."

From abstract: This abbreviated data report presents results of ground water and stream/surface sediment reconnaissance in the National Topographic Map Series (NTMS) San Bernardino 10 x 2 quadrangle. Surface sediment samples were collected at 1539 sites, at a target sampling density of one site per 13 square kilometers (five square miles). Surface water samples were collected at 39 of these sites. Ground water samples were collected at 392 sites. Neutron activation analysis (NAA) results are given for uranium and 16 other elements in sediments, and for uranium and 9 other elements in ground water. Mass spectrometry results are given for helium in ground water. Field measurements and observations are reported for each site. Analytical data and field measurements are presented in tables and maps.

Preliminary Evaluation of the Uranium Favorability in the Area Northeast of Gunnison, Colorado
Description:
Rock and stream-sediment samples were collected to define areas favorable for uranium deposits northeast of Gunnison, Colorado. Areas considered most favorable for further exploration are: (1) the Bronco Mountain area, approximately 10 mi south of Taylor Park Reservoir, (2) the area near the Big Red mine, and (3) the area 5 mi north-northeast of Taylor Park Reservoir. On the basis of known deposits in the Marshall Pass and Cochetopa districts, fault contacts between Precambrian granites and Paleozoic or Mesozoic sedimentary rocks are favorable structural sites.

Results of Elemental Analyses of Water and Waterborne Sediment Samples from the Proposed Cape Krusenstern National Monument, Alaska
Description:
From abstract: During July-August 1976, water and sediments were collected for the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory from streams and lakes over an area of -100 000 km2 around Kotzebue, Alaska. The sampling was by helicopter, as part of the NURE Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance (HSSR) sponsored by the US ERDA. It was done according to rigorous, but simple, written procedures, at a nominal density of one location per 23 km 2, and included the 1400- to 1900-km2 area proposed for the Cape Krusenstern National Monument. All the samples would normally have been analyzed for uranium and presented in a regular HSSR report. However, due to an interest in the proposed Monument area, the Anchorage office of the Department of Interior, Bureau of Mines, provided funds for multielement analyses on the sediments taken from there. Consequently, in addition to the routine field data and uranium determinations for waters and/or sediments from 89 locations sampled over the proposed Cape Krusenstern Monument, the results of analyses of 44 additional elements in 77 of the sediments from there are provided. Sample locations are shown on a 1:250 000-scale plate. The data and descriptions of the methods used are in appendices.
