A Computer Code (CDC 1604A or IBM 7090) for Calculating the Cost of Shipping Spent Reactor Fuels as a Function of Burnup, Specific Power, Cooling Time, Fuel Composition, and Other Variables

Description: Report presenting the calculation of the costs incurred in shipping irradiated uranium-containing fuel elements. A computer code that designs a cask and calculates the shipping costs is presented. By use of the code, shipping costs were calculated for typical reactor fuels.

Core II Physics Tests on the Sodium Reactor Experiment

Description: A series of experiments were performed during the operation of the SRE-Core II to determine some of the basic nuclear parameters for that core. The reactor transfer function for the second fuel loading was measured with a pile oscillator. Measurements at-power were first performed while the core has a positive prompt power coefficient.

Deposition of Submicron-Size Particles in Ventilation Ducts

Description: The purpose of this study was to investigate mathematically the concentration decrease due to particle deposition phenomena in highly concentrated monodispersed aerosols (mean particle size less than 1.0 mu) flowing through ventilation ducts.
