Exploration of the Big Boulder Prospect, Larimer County, Colorado

Description: From introduction: The Big Boulder prospect is in SE 1/4 sec. 36, T.7N., R.,72W., in Tarimer County, Colorado. The prospect has been opened by four irregular trenches and shallow cuts, and a 10-foot discovery shaft. Hanley 1/4 states that 10.5 tons of beryl were produced from the Big Boulder prospect in 1936, and about 600 pounds in 1941.

Description: From introduction: An autunite deposit in the SW 1/4 sec. 25, T. 10 N., R. 13 W. San Bernardino meridian, was visited by F. M. Chace on May 6 and 15, 1950. A Lead-Uranium Deposit at the White Oak No. 1 Mine, Santa Cruz County, Arizona

Description: From abstract: A small quantity of uranium ore was shipped from the White Oak No. 1 mine, Pajarito mining district, Santa Cruz County, Ariz., in 1952. The uranium is associated with oxidized lead ore in a shear zone that cuts rhyolite 'porphyry of Tertiary(?) age. The uranium minerals -- kasolite, uranophane, dumontite, autunite, and possibly radioactive pyromorphite -- are concentrated along small, discontinuous fractures, and accordingly the ore bodies are small and widely dispersed.

Description: From explanation: This map is based on water level measurements made in wells screened in the Eocene Memphis Sand (formerly "500-foot sand"). Monthly low-water levels for the month of August, 1978 from USGS maintained recorder equipped wells and supplemental measurements made on August 22 and 23 of private and industrial wells were used as control. Water levels are commonly at their lowest for the year during late August of early September (Criner and Parks, 1976).
